Yahoo Messenger Desktop Application Review from Lenoir, North Carolina

I just had the new Yahoo messenger installed on my laptop because of an update and I hate it ..you cannot tell when the person is online you cannot tell when they are writing to you it's just awful be smart and put it back the way it was I really don't even want to use it anymore it used to be bigger than the rest and now it's worse than the rest it is just bareable on my phone but on the laptop and my notebook it's just awful. The best parts were taken away like being able to see someone writing to you and being able to see when they were online I can't tell you how disgusted I am with it just like Microsoft changing from 7 to 8 and now having to go to the 10 why can't you learn from that big mistake

Washington Post Sucks

Why don't you remove the Washington Post news feeds from Yahoo. No one is going to subscribe and pay a fee to read their garbage and it just takes up room on the page. GET RID OF THE GARBAGE ADS ON HERE!!!!!! No one wants to be bombarded by useless and uninteresting ads. If you want to remain competitive you need to listen to your customers. If your paycheck come from these advertisers at least make the ads pertinent to your web users. I don't expect this complaint will do any good as no one is interested in good customer service anymore. I have always used Yahoo as my web browser of choice but I am going to look somewhere else for my information.

Give me of the articles and sites you list for searches

I HATE opening the "right " article only to find is is NOT CURRENT. I know you are paid to put things on top - fair enough. But as soon as I find a search that shows me the dates, I AM GONE. PS I really do like you guys - except how much time this wastes! ============== I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE opening the "right " article only to find is is NOT CURRENT. Yahoo Email

I am at the end of my rope with Yahoo. Time and time again, they send my Facebook notifications to my spam. I write and receive no responses. It is completely inexcusable ! These notifications are NOT spam and should come directly to my email ! I want to know how to contact them directly where they will write back to me and finally stop doing this ! I see so many complaints of dissatisfied customers, yet Yahoo has no interest in helping. Please have someone write back to me so that finally I can have this problem resolved. So frustrated !

Yahoo Spoilers

I usually like browsing Yahoo for news as they cover many different topics. However, they completely spoiled a huge TV show that I will not name just in case anyone else is behind. The link to click says "spoiler alert" yet the article title and description says how the season ended. WTF! Why have "spoiler alert" when you spoil the episode in the title?! I can understand if this article was months after the episode and there was an interview but this was the day after. The episode was completely ruined and I was so careful all day too ... Thanks Yahoo and Kimberly Potts!

Yahoo changed its page in 2016; i will find another PAGE if I can not use the OLD YAHOO

The new yahoo page is garbage and I am looking to switch to one that was like the one YAHOO HAD in 2015. I can not comment like I used to and the page is less informative....IT STINKS. I hope that YAHOO will give me a choice of formats. This new MARCH 2016 yahoo page is NOT FOR ME. GOOD BYE...I must find another interface page....YAHOO IS NOW BASE. Why would a company like this change everything on their page and ASSUME THIS IS AN IMPROVEMENT? I will be looking for another "yahoo" and in a week or two...NO more of this garbage page. Is that 100 words yet???

Yahoo what have you done!!!!!!! Your post page was just great the way it was, it would show I had so many comments and replies then I would touch on it and it would go right to the comment and show the responses. Fantastic but no some *** that works for you come up with some *** *** idea to take that from us. I know you have to be swamped with complaints there is no one who likes this new format except !!!!! You guessed it the one *** liberal on planet earth who thinks their idea is great so we can't view our comments or replies. This is a total fail on your part it's like your trying to destroy a great thing, go back to the way it was yahoo!!!!!! And fire that *** NOW!!!!!! Pissed of customer

Newsfeed

I am so tired of the right wing bias on the newsfeed I can't use it anymore as it has become obvious I would miss 75% of the news. The supposed program to adjust my content to my preferences was either a rouse, lie or complete tech failure. I assume the format change [remove my ability to remove *** news or ads from the feed] was a corporate attempt to censor and bias my news selection content. The biggest failure of all is how they eliminate my ability too contact them and express my displeasure. These methods of lack of responsiveness and lack of neutrality and bias in the newsfeed lable this corporation as total garbage and worthy of abandonment

Yahoo's ridiculous programming

I was trying to login to one of my Yahoo accounts just to check on my e-mail. To my knowledge, there had been NO issues with my account, but they FORCED me to change my password. I didn't WANT to, but they gave me NO option! Then, when I put in a password I wanted to use, they rejected it, saying it was too similar to one I had used in the past. By this time I was angry and wanted to complain, but they wouldn't let me do that either! Can they force people to change their password against their will, and for no good reason? Yahoo SUCKS!

As mentioned by anonymous, your account was probably hacked. I'm also a former customer who got tired of being asked to reset my password multiple times a year.

Most of the time you will never learn that your account was hacked. They will just ask you to reset your password the next time you log on.

From previous experience as a former Yahoo customer, it's possible your account was broken into. Shortly after they released the "new and improved" email sometime in 2013, I was forced to change my password and around the same time many reputable media outlets were reporting that Yahoo had a big bug in their email interface that allowed hackers to break in and this was probably why I was forced to change my password at the time.

I left them in 2014 and am not surprised to see people still complaining about Yahoo. It seems Yahoo is great at trying to fix what isn't broken and ignoring customer complaints. They have also made it more difficult to contact them probably because they are tired of all the people complaining about them.

Now the company is being bid on by companies to take over and hopefully Marissa Mayer will not be retained by Yahoo once someone buys them. This was great for other email providers like gmail who people refused to join until they were tired of Yahoo.
