Poor connectivity with Yahoo services

So sorry to complain, but I am fed up with Yahoo web sites and e-mail. I cannot connect between the hours of 6:00 am and 5:59 am ( the next day). Yahoo has focused so much on ad content and stealing my personal info from e-mail to generate ads that they have lost sight of what made them great. Yahoo continues to be "unavailable" most of the time ( e mail and Finance pages) and this is ridiculous. Yahoo also lost track of my personal e mail data ( read " hacked") and my e mail account sent numerous e mail span messages. WOW. Yahoo, Do you know what you are doing at all?

Yahoo going down the drain..

Very Very Disappointed with Yahoo. I have had a paid account for mail for over a decade with rarely any problems, I can not actually think of any until recently. Since the what is her name?? came from google, its been one mess up after another. Today, I can't open email. then I am bumped out of email, then I can't sign in, then I get this error message wtf? Not to mention the spam increase in my inbox and the instant messaging from unique names that I keep getting despite being turned off. hello, your turn off doesn't work.. 3 of us have looked at I am off. I get yahoo on my smart phone but that is not where I want to open most of it.. I am forwarding to my gmail account. Yahoo get smart.. fire the chick at the top.. Here's the error Unknown Host Description: Unable to locate the server named "mg6.real.mail.yahoo.com" --- the server does not have a DNS entry. Perhaps there is a misspelling in the server name, or the server no longer exists. Double-check the name and try again.

Feb 24, 2014 Yahoo has serious problems. I am locked out of my account and have been trying for 3 weeks to access my acount.

I was on hold for 2 hours today and finally had to hang up. Obviously there is a problem.

YAHOO CUSTOMER CARE IS PATHETIC AND SHOULD SHUT DOWN

I forgot my yahoo password to my account and i need it very badly because my everything that relates to my life and my job are sent to that email. I have called the yahoo customer care number everyday for the past 9 days straight. Each time i've called i had to wait anywhere between a HOUR OR 2 HOURS all for my call to get cut off. I have literally wasted up 10 hours of MY LIFE trying to a hold of A YAHOO REPRESENTATIVE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND THE SAD PART IS IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DEAL WITH IT DAILY AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Hahaha. Really?

Everything you need and depend on is based on a password you can't remember??

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

One more thing..

Hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha

What is that "something" you would like done??

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha

#779597

If they shut down where will you get a FREE email account? If everything in my life depended on a password, you can bet I would have that sucker memorized, written down and placed in a safe deposit box, tattooed on my arm - something secure.

Yahoo refusal to recognize a long-term customer

Some months ago, being retired and on a limited income, I cancelled my 'Premium' account, which I had for some years, and reverted to 'Standard' account. Since then I have had to enter my email address and password as many as four times to access my account, and sometimes not only providing answers to my secret questions, but repeating an almost ineligible code. Eight hours (8) earlier today I signed in (took 3 times and secret questions) and later signed out, maybe 10 minutes later. Now you have refused to recognize my password, although I definitely not only remember but I took pains to enter it properly. You have forced me, once again, to initial a new password, which I think is totally unnecessary as my recent past password has worked these couple months (even when I have to enter it many times). Don't bother sending a reply from your computer, it never addresses the subject. Don't you have humans working there now? If you can come up with a specific reason why your system is inept, I am ready to listen.

I suspect it has nothing to do with Yahoo but, rather with your machine. Try clearing your history and cache. I would download a small, free program called CCleaner at "piriform.com" and use it to clean out your machine on a regular basis. Take a look at it.

I also would start using Firefox instead of IE if that's what you are using. When you access the Yahoo website it is not recognising you and thus wants you to log in, etc. Try cancelling out your account with yahoo in total, clean out your cache of all, and I mean all cookies, history, etc and start a new yahoo account and see what happens.

If you continue to have problems with Yahoo, just use some other website. Yahoo has many problems now and the new head of Yahoo is someone with little practical knowledge of how to run a large corp which means continuing trouble for Yahoo. Most likely, it will be history in a couple of years---a good run while it lasted, but there are better places to park yourself nowadays.

They have mis-categorized my business and I can't get it changed!

I have a graphic design business called, Creative Office Guru. Yahoo decided that I sell office supplies - I guess because I have the word "office" in my business title. I get calls asking if I carry such & so or if I will carry a certain product in my "store" all the time. I have been trying unsuccessfully to change my business information for at least 4 months. I've contacted them and got this response "because of the popularity of Yahoo...we are experiencing longer than normal response times....yada yada" And of course you can't respond to the email. It is very frustrating to have to field calls that are not going to generate any revenue or even good will toward my company!

Yahoo customer care suckks

i have been trying to login into my account and I couldn't login as I am not typing one of my security questions answer correctly. I have tried calling customer care 25 times and I have waited for at least 2 hrs once before the call gets cut. I got a confirmation mail also but they didn't respond to my mail. Really if this is the service they provide then they need to close the company. I am tired of calling yahoo or writing mail to the yahoo mail for yahoo customer care. They least bother about there customers. I am really pissed by there behavior.

After the last upgrade of Yahoo Mail, I can't print emails

Message appears and tells me that there may be unsecured data in the information I want to print. Do I wish to continue... Yes. It prints page with the standard boiler plate but no information contained in the email prints out... just a heading with no info. So now there is a request to update my browser 'Firefox' which I have been ignoring for three days... so I update the browser. Those programs tell me my security system will not allow me to download the file .exe... I override... the program finishes and I sign off the computer, reboot and still continued to get message telling me the browser needs to be updated. So i call support 800 number and get someone who insists i give him personal information complete spelling of name email address and birthdate I refuse to give him my birthdate and ask him to show me from information on his webpage that he is an authorized Yahoo technician... He says if I think he is a scammer I should call another number. I ask him to give me the other number of someone I can understand, whose first language is English, and he hangs up on me!! I'm now back in the same position as before. Why not put the old software back on until the new package is tested, repaired and running.

Yahoo mail down for maintenance more than 24 hours!

Yahoo has taken some email accounts down for maintenance for more than 24 hours. Yesterday there was no clue why -- more than 24 hours later they finally tell their customers why they can't access email. Denying access to email for more than 24 hours is unacceptable in this day and age, and waiting that long to inform customers is even more unacceptable. Yahoo should have warned customers their email would be down AND Yahoo should never deny access for 24+ hours. Many of us rely on email and have time-sensitive information being held up. Terrible customer service! Give me my email!

Can't even get into my Yahoo mail

When I tried to sign in to my Yahoo email account, I couldn't get there. I get the page that wants you to upgrade. I didn't want to upgrade because I am so pissed at Yahoo that I am gradually moving my email to a different provider. Anyway - it has a link to continue without upgrading. The link does not work. Below that there is a link for help. That link doesn't work either. I have had many other problems including deleting files that come back. There are so many pop ups that it is hard to concentrate on the task at hand - too much time getting rid of pop ups that just return on the next screen.

Same here! The link used to work, despite being repeatedly annoying.

Now it doesn't work.

Here's a fast way to open now: RIGHT click on the link that says "Continue without upgrading" Choose "open in new window" (or tab) and your email inbox will be there. Very frustrating, but at least you can get into your email doing that.

Yahoo Small Business Acct. cancelled, my website and email are gone!

Like thousands of customers around the country, my yahoo small business account has been cancelled without notice. My website is not being hosted and email doesn't work. Yahoo customer support is a myth, it doesn't exist. I will be taking my business elsewhere as soon as possible. Here's how. Contact the domain registrar, Melbourne I.T. (011-61-3*-624-****), tell them the problem you are having and that all attempts to contact Yahoo have failed. They can "escalate" your account with Yahoo. Yahoo then has 48 hours to respond. If they do not, call Melbourne I.T. again and they can do a "second escalation" of the account. Again Yahoo has 48 hours to respond. When they don't respond, call Melbourne I.T. again and they can have you fill out a form to release the rights to your domain name from Yahoo, and they can give you the codes/security key needed to get your domain name transferred to a different hosting company such as GoDaddy, etc.

Yahoo customer care SUUUUUUCKS

I have been locked out of my current and most used email for SEVERAL MONTHS because I cannot remember the answer to my security question. I had contscted yahoo customer care online SIX TIMES and called their numbers which of course no one picks up the damn phone over 20 times. I had aited on the phone each time for about twenty minutes before I received a busy signal. ALSO. I received an automated message back from my complaint asking me what the answers to my security question were! THATS WHY I EMAILED YOU IDIOTS! totally lacking and downright lazy I am never using this site again I have lost many opportunities due to "customer care" negligence and never really getting back to me you call that customer care? hire people and I mean actual people to help and not machines. k thanks. -pissed customer # 487986****384579****948739****938476****

Yahoo has a new chief, but she apparently hasn't a clue how to bring Yahoo back from the living dead. I have moved on, after years with Yahoo to other email services.

Gmail is ok as long as you use Firefox and use the add-ons to stop GMail's insidious and irritating ads.

I have found Mail.com and GMX.com email to be more trouble than they are worth. All you can do is try some out and pick the one(s) that work for you.

Yahoo small business cancelled my account and redirected my website withoput my consent

On Dec. 1st, I no longer had email or my business website. They were both just cancelled by Yahoo with no notice. Yes, I know they say they let consumers know this would happen if you did not sign a consent form, but i NEVER GOT A NOTICE! After 1 solid week of try my autherization code so I can take my business to another host, I still can not get through on the phone. I do get email responses, but they keep giving me phone numbers to call which do not work. Their lines are down, really, no phone access for 1 week and no-one in the media is reporting this? I am sure I am not they only one this happened to.

Missed Yahoo! alerts cost me $75

I get alerts from my credit card co's. when the bill is coming due and they never arrived. I relied on these for years and didn't notice when they didn't appear a few months ago. So of course I missed payments for 3 cards and was charged $25 each and took a hit to my previously stellar credit rating! Target just returned my late fee without me asking because of so many similar complaints.Yeah,Target.I know Yahoo is free and in the end it was my responsibility to keep track of the bills but it is very annoying that it cost me money and reputation.Needless to say, I went to another email concern and learned a hard lesson.
